Structured prompting also makes it easier to treat image generation as part of a controlled software pipeline rather than a purely conversational creative tool.

Trade-offs

Open weights create flexibility, but they also move more responsibility to you when you self-host or customize: inference infrastructure, deployment choices, version control, and model operations become part of the workflow. Midjourney keeps those concerns behind a managed product surface.
